A Medieval Christmas with Martha at Bar None Coffee

December 8, 2007 by Martha Hannah

Back again, Comedienne Maid Martha at the wonderful and cozy Bar None Coffee for an evening of Christmas history, Medieval mayhem and belly laughs! Christmas tree all alight in the front window corner, Texas night skies looking in, downtown lights of Georgetown in the distance, Chuck and Linda Silva dishing up tempting, fragrant hot chocolates, coffees and espresso de jour and we get rolling.  Intimate theatre at its best, I perform my Medieval Christmas show, jokes all around and my now famous ‘Henry VIII’s Wives Twelve Days of Christmas’. Who would know that that group of talented Christmas song background singers is usually known as the Bar None Coffee staff?

Laughter abounds with a ready, and I must say, highly participatory audience. It is wonderful to see in the crowd, the lovely and brilliant Harker Heights Library Director, Lisa Youngblood with her sweetheart family including impressive daughter and our guest emcee, Sheridan,  the shining Carol Belmont and new friend, Debbie Todd. In between sets, Larry and I do a bit of book signing of our ever popular ‘The Ghost of Hampton Court’ and schmooze with our lovely friends. There’s no place more fun and friendly than this Georgetown coffee shop, Bar None!
